Everyday essays
Nou toe nou is a collection of short stories and essays about everyday happenings.
Some are fiction. Some are based on real events. They are stories about the things we see, hear, experience and sometimes overlook in the ordinary course of life.
The stories are short, direct and varied. Each one stands on its own, offering a moment, an observation, a conversation or a situation worth considering.
You may recognise something of yourself, someone you know, or a moment that reminds you of something that has happened in your own life.
— Nou toe nouOr perhaps you will simply enjoy the story.

About
About Mario Bonthuys
Knysna, South Africa
Mario Bonthuys writes about the everyday.
The starting point may be a conversation, an observation, an unusual situation, a familiar experience or simply something that catches his attention. Some stories are fictional. Others are rooted in real life.
The common thread is the ordinary world around us — the people we meet, the things we experience and the moments that can so easily pass unnoticed.
Nou toe nou is the first collection. More stories are currently being gathered for a future book.
This website will remain the home of Mario Bonthuys and his books.
